§ Sir J. Mellorasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give an assurance that, during the past eight months, he has not changed the principles upon which he previously advised, or refrained from advising, the exercise by the Crown of the prerogative of mercy; and that he does not now automatically advise reprieve from capital sentences.
§ Mr. EdeI would refer the hon. Member to the statement which I made in Parliament on 10th June last, to which I have nothing to add.
