§ Mr. MayhewHis Majesty's Government have played a leading part in supplying direct aid to the Palestine Arab refugees and in initiating discussion of this tragic problem at the United Nations. The sum of £100,000 was offered by His Majesty's Government for the purchase of immediate necessities and this has been largely used by the Disaster Relief Project Organisation for tents and 13W blankets. United Kingdom delegates at the United Nations are playing a leading part in trying to secure early and effective action on the report recently submitted to Committee 3 by the Acting Mediator and Sir R. Cilento.
