§ 12. Mr. Wilkesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what provision has been made by the Chinese Government to compensate British nationals, formerly employed by, and in, the International Settlement, Shanghai, for loss of office as a result of the transfer of the former International Settlement to the Chinese Government.
§ Mr. BevinNegotiations have been somewhat protracted, but as my right hon. Friend the Minister of State informed the hon. Member for Hornsey (Mr. Gammans) on 2nd February, they are still proceeding.
