§ 49. Mr. Sharpasked the Minister of Labour what action he is taking to find employment for the large number of registered disabled persons in the West Riding of Yorkshire; and to what extent special training or employment is required to place them, and is now being provided.
§ Mr. IsaacsContinuous efforts are made by the employment exchanges, both under the quota scheme and otherwise, to find suitable employment for registered disabled persons. I am shortly inviting Disablement Advisory Committees in the118W West Riding and elsewhere to examine the position specially in their own areas. Ample facilities for vocational training are available, and it is intended soon to open industrial rehabilitation units at Leeds and Sheffield to assist the return to work of disabled persons who are not immediately fit for training or employment.
