HC Deb 08 July 1948 vol 453 c51W
Mr. Goronwy Roberts

asked the Minister of Education how many ex-Service men and women from Wales have been interviewed for grants under the F.E.T. regulations; how many have been accepted; how many rejected; and what are the comparable figures for the United Kingdom.

Mr. Isaacs

I have been asked to reply. Up to 30th June, 1948, 150,717 applications were made in the United Kingdom for grants under the Further Education and Training Scheme. I am unable to say how many of the applicants were interviewed. During the same period 100,439 awards were made and 24,316 applications were rejected. I regret that comparable statistics for Wales are not available.
