§ Mr. Walkdenasked the Minister of Transport if he has now reviewed the urgent demands for steel to enable the contractors to complete the erection of two new extensions to the L.N.E.R. works at Doncaster; whether he is aware that the failure to deliver 700 tons of steel will seriously affect the problem of wagon shortages and the new wagon building programme; and if he will issue instructions for sufficient steel to be allocated to complete the works by the specified contract date.
§ Mr. BarnesThe highest priority was given for the steel required and the Iron and Steel Federation are taking active steps to find suppliers for items which are still outstanding.
