§ Mr. CallaghanMy right hon. Friend is informed by the British Transport Commission that all demands for empty wagons are being met at collieries and other industrial establishments and that there has been a welcome reduction in the average time wagons stand under load at terminals. Whilst the number of wagons available continues steadily to improve, and is satisfactory at the moment, the most difficult winter period for transport is now upon us and there must be no slackening of effort to secure their speedy turn-round. My right hon. Friend is glad of this opportunity to express his appreciation of the efforts made by railwaymen of all grades and by traders to release wagons by quicker discharge.
