HC Deb 10 February 1948 vol 447 cc39-40W
84. Mr. Osborne

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will reconsider his refusal to help a lady, details of whose case have been sent to him by the hon. Member for Louth, and who is unable, after suffering from infantile paralysis, to obtain the special shoes she requires without undue expenditure of money and coupons, since one foot is larger than the other.

Mr. Bottomley

The Board of Trade always try to help in cases where there is a particular need for special shoes. In the particular case to which the hon. Member refers, the lady concerned was recommended to a society who specialise in offering this service to the public.
