§ Lieut.-Colonel Kingsmillasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that Indian made webbing receives more favourable treatment from the point of view of Purchase Tax than British made webbing made in its traditional colours of black and white, and whether he is prepared to remit the Purchase Tax on British made webbing provided it is manufactured only in black and white or natural colour.
§ Sir S. CrippsThe effect of the existing distinction for Purchase Tax purposes between dyed and undyed fabrics of certain kinds will be considered in the review of the tax which I have undertaken to make in connection with the forthcoming Budget, and I will bear in mind the hon. Member's suggestion.
