asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what percentage of oil and petrol reaching the United Kingdom comes from the Persian Gulf and the Dutch West Indies respectively.

Imports of crude petroleum and refined liquid petroleum products from the Persian Gulf and the Dutch West Indies in 1947 were 22 and 37 per cent. respectively of the total imports of these products into the United Kingdom. For motor spirit only, imports from these two sources were 9 and 35 per cent. respectively of the total motor spirit imports into the United Kingdom.
