HC Deb 09 February 1948 vol 447 c28W
Mr. Granville

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the serious shortage of ¾ socks at sizes between 6 and 9 in Leiston, Suffolk, if he will take steps to remedy this; and to see that more darning wool is allocated to this area.

Mr. H. Wilson

I am not aware that supplies of children's socks, three-quarter hose and darning wool in Leiston are worse than those in other parts of the country, though I know that supplies generally are none too plentiful and I am doing all I can to obtain increased production.
