HC Deb 09 February 1948 vol 447 cc20-1W
111. Mr. Gooch

asked the Minister of Transport if he will re-open to the public the road from Helhoughton to Weasenham St. Peter, Norfolk, which has remained closed since the war and causes considerable inconvenience to the residents in the area.

Mr. Barnes

The Air Ministry want to retain West Raynham airfield permanently and have made application to me, under the provisions of the Requisitioned Land and War Works Act, 1945, for closure of parts of the Helhoughton—Weasenham St. Peter road and of certain other roads. Before publishing a draft order as required by the Act, I am considering what alternative road facilities ought to be provided.
