§ 68. Mr. D. Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the serious food situation in the bi-zonal area of Germany, he will instruct the Regional Commissioners in the Länder of the British zone to take action to ensure strict observance by the Länder Governments of Military Government Ordinance No. 88 which requires them to obey instructions issued by the bizonal German economic organisation in Frankfurt.
Mr. McNeilThe obligation of Länder Governments to carry out the orders of the economic administration has been categorically re-affirmed, and Regional Commissioners will, as in the past, do everything in their power to ensure effective compliance with this obligation. No new instructions appear to be called for.
