25. Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is, approximately, the number of persons engaged in each of the three sections of the Industry Division of the Control Commission for Germany, described as disarmament, decartelisation and the revival of peaceful industry, whose total is stated to be 784.

Mr. McNeil

One hundred and ninety-eight persons are employed on disarmament and liquidation of war potential, and 44 on decartelisation and the breaking down of combines. The remaining staff of the Industry Division is engaged on supervisory work connected with the revival of essential industry under the level of industry plan.
