HC Deb 09 February 1948 vol 447 c5W
29. Sir W. Smiles

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he is aware that a letter from a firm in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, to the Commercial Attaché in Brussels was passed by the British Embassy to the Eire Legation; if he will inquire into the reason for this mistake; and take steps to prevent such action being taken in the future.

Mr. McNeil

The reference of this inquiry to the Eire Legation was made in error and steps are being taken to ensure that a mistake of this kind does not recur.
