HC Deb 04 February 1948 vol 446 c300W
Mr. Viant

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many irregularities there were by licensees under the Cruelty to Animals Act, 1876, during the year 1946; what was the nature of the offences; and how were the offenders dealt with.

Mr. Ede

Three irregularities were reported to have occurred in 1946. In one case it was found that a doctor working in a pathology department had made one experiment by innoculation, though he had no licence; in the other two cases licence-holders had made experiments not covered by their certificates. In all three cases the offender was admonished.
