HC Deb 04 February 1948 vol 446 cc299-300W
114. Mr. Ivor Thomas

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will give an assurance that officers and men returning from the Palestine Police Force will be exempted from further national service; and that such officers and men will not be directed into work until they have completed any leave to which they are entitled so that they may have full opportunity of obtaining employment themselves.

Mr. Isaacs

Yes. Men who are released from the Palestine Police on the disbandment of the Force will not be called up for military service. During their period of paid leave they will be free from labour controls.
