HC Deb 04 February 1948 vol 446 cc295-6W
115. Major Beamish

asked the Minister of Supply if he will publish a list of British military stores, including arms and equipment, sold or lent to the Jewish Agency or any other Jewish organisation in Palestine, during the last six months, together with a similar list showing British military stores and equipment sold or lent to any Arab interests in Palestine during the same period.

Mr. J. Jones

No British warlike stores have been sold or lent to the Jewish Agency or to any comparable Arab organisation in Palestine. Surplus stores and equipment, of a non-warlike character, have been sold to both Jewish and Arab commercial interests in Palestine, usually as a result of competitive tendering, open also to buyers in other territories. A list of such stores would be very long and could not be compiled without the expenditure of an undue amount of time and labour.
