HC Deb 04 February 1948 vol 446 c278W
67. Mr. Pickthorn

asked the Minister of Food whether he is prepared to provide extra rations for students in training, in view of the very active life they lead and the fact that they are very often dependent solely on their domestic rations.

Mr. Strachey

I am glad to say that, following the practice adopted with residential schools, resident students in colleges, hostels and hospitals, including student nurses, will in future receive the equivalent of five extra main meals per head per week.
