HC Deb 04 February 1948 vol 446 c291W
98. Squadron-Leader Fleming

asked the Postmaster-General when a telephone will be installed at 12, Shiffey Street, Withington, Manchester, for which Mr. George Milne first applied in 1943.

Mr. Wilfred Paling

I understand that the application made by Mr. George Milne in September, 1943, was for telephone service at 123, Mauldeth Road, Withington, Manchester. This application was subsequently cancelled and another application for service at 12, Shiffey Street, Withington, was made on 31st January, 1946. I regret that it has not yet been possible to provide this service, owing to shortage of plant, but cables are now being laid in the locality and I hope that service will be available for Mr. Milne at 12, Shiffey Street within about four months.
