HC Deb 02 February 1948 vol 446 c224W
66. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he is taking to diminish the number of otters on trout and salmon rivers in England and Scotland, in view of the widespread damage to fishing which an increase in their numbers is causing.

Mr. T. Williams

None. I am not aware that otters are causing widespread damage. In any case the preservation of trout and salmon fisheries is the responsibility of fishery boards and owners of fishing rights.
