HC Deb 02 December 1948 vol 458 c220W
Mr. Piratin

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the fact that the United State geologists and geodetic engineers to be employed in East and Central Africa will be carrying out work which can be of military value, he will state what security measures he is taking to ensure that no reports or information are imparted to a foreign Power.

Mr. Creech Jones

The United States geologists and geodetic engineers to be employed in East and Central Africa will work as part of the Colonial Geological Survey Service and the Directorate of Colonial Surveys, and will accordingly be subject to the general regulations regarding security and to the laws of the territory in which they are operating.
