HC Deb 02 December 1948 vol 458 c206W
62. Mr. Bossom

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he will give the amount of petrol allocated to the Central Office of Information Film Service in October, 1947, and the comparable figure for October, 1948; and if he is satisfied that this Department is effecting every possible economy in the use of petrol.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

9,013 gallons were used in October, 1947, and 10,262 gallons in October, 1948. The main reason for the increase is that more of the non-theatrical film shows by the mobile projection vans were given in the remoter parts of the country. The Central Office of Information is effecting every possible economy in the use of petrol.
