HC Deb 21 April 1948 vol 449 c139W
20. Sir W. Darling

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many Jews have left Palestine since notice was given Of the surrender of the Mandate; what have been their respective destinations; and what facilities exist for transport arrangements for others with similar intentions.

Mr. Mayhew

The statistics' requested by the hon. Member are not readily available and my right hon. Friend would be most reluctant to ask the Government of Palestine to undertake compilation of them in the midst of their many current preoccupations. No special transport arrangements have been made or are contemplated for the purpose mentioned in this Question.
