HC Deb 13 April 1948 vol 449 c60W
62. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action he is taking in the interests of the reading public, and publishers in the Dominions, including Eire, to secure some mitigation of our non-discrimination obligations to the U.S.A., and Canada, and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Belcher

The Government have prominently in mind certain difficulties arising from the general non-discrimination obligations to which my hon. Friend refers, and they hope that an opportunity will soon arise to seek some further clarification of these principles as they apply to current operations.
