HC Deb 13 April 1948 vol 449 c60W
60. Mr. G. Porter

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that seven coupons are being asked for coats supplied to children as young as twelve months of age; and is he prepared to review this matter with a view to remedying the anomaly.

Mr. Belcher

Coupon rates for infants' overcoats are based on the average cloth content and the rate for a coat more than 14 inches long is seven coupons. A child of 12 months does not normally wear this type of garment, but if my hon. Friend will send me details of any particular case he has in mind, I will look into the matter.
