asked the President of the Board of Trade why women who leave the country on temporary visits abroad, especially the United States of America are prevented from taking whatever personal belongings they desire if sufficient guarantees are given that these personal effects will be brought back with them.

The matter is being kept under constant review in the light of all possible methods of meeting the problems involved, including the method suggested by the hon. Member.
