HC Deb 28 October 1947 vol 443 c49W
79. Mr. Langford-Holt

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what are the number of temporary clerks, male and female, employed in the Civil Service and the number of temporary ex-Service clerks, men and women, respectively, employed in the non-industrial Civil Service at the nearest convenient date.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

Temporary clerks employed at 1st July, 1947, counting part-time staff as half units, numbered 74,980 men and 94,368 women. Separate figures for ex-Service men and women are not available centrally, nor can they be readily obtained in the several Departments.
