asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps are being taken to implement the recommendations of the Working Party Report on the Pottery Industry; and when it is proposed to set up a Development Council as provided for under the Industrial Organisation Act, 1947.

Good progress has been made towards implementing the majority of the thirty detailed recommendations. It would be impracticable within the scope of a Parliamentary Answer to describe the steps taken in each case, but I shall be glad to tell my hon. Friend the action taken upon any particular recommendations he may have in mind. Discussions concerning the establishment of a Development Council are taking place with both sides of the industry and the first draft of the necessary statutory Order is being sent to them for comment.
