§ 108. Commander Purseyasked the Minister of Labour the number of disabled men and women, respectively, in Hull; the number suitable and unsuitable for ordinary employment; what steps his Department are taking themselves, and with industry, to find employment for these people; and whether, in view of the number of disabled persons in the Hull area and the urgent demand to increase manpower in industry, he will consider starting the training of disabled civilian and ex-Service men and women in Hull.
§ Mr. IsaacsThere are about 6,600 men and 400 women registered as disabled in Hull. The numbers unemployed on the 15th September last were 970 men and 59W 33 women, of whom 245 men and 7 women were classified as unsuitable for ordinary employment. My Department is making continuous efforts both under the Quota Scheme and otherwise to find suitable employment for those unemployed and as my hon. and gallant Friend is aware, the question of training facilities is not being overlooked.
