HC Deb 27 November 1947 vol 444 c308W
88. Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Minister of Education what powers of autonomy he has granted to the regional office he has established at Cardiff; and what is the estimated cost for a year's maintenance and the number of staff employed.

Mr. Tomlinson

I am sending to my hon. Friend a copy of the Welsh Circular No. 8 which describes the powers and functions of the Cardiff office of the Welsh Department. The cost of this office for a year is estimated to be £5,350 in salaries of staff and £300 for rent and maintenance of the building. The number of staff at present is II.
