HC Deb 26 November 1947 vol 444 cc288-9W
91. Mr. Dodds-Parker

asked the Secretary of State for Air what action he is taking to make available to farmers wood, corrugated iron and asbestos from disused aerodromes, much of which is either being burnt as waste or is becoming useless through neglect and exposure.

Mr. A. Henderson

Any of these materials which are no longer needed by the R.A.F. and would be useful to farmers and others are declared to the responsible disposals department, who deal with all inquiries for their purchase. I will gladly investigate any case which the hon. Member may bring to my notice where useful materials for which the Royal Air Force is still responsible are being burnt or allowed to deteriorate.
