HC Deb 26 November 1947 vol 444 c288W
90. Mr. T. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that a dwelling house, "Sandy," Butter-worth, Penang, belonging to Mr. M. F. Gythwyn-Stewart, who urgently requires it for his own occupation, is being unreasonably retained by the R.A.F.; and will he take steps to derequisition this property at once.

Mr. A. Henderson

This house is being used as sick quarters for the R.A.F. Station, Butterworth, and there is at present no other suitable accommodation. It will not be retained longer than is essential, but I regret that I cannot at present say when it can be derequisitioned. I am, however, calling for a report as to what steps can be taken to provide other sick quarters as quickly as possible, and I will communicate with my hon. Friend.
