HC Deb 25 November 1947 vol 444 c266W
82. Sir F. Sanderson

asked the Minister of National Insurance whether upon the raising of the school-leaving age, he proposes to extend the time for the payment of children's allowances.

Mr. Steele

No special action is necessary. Under the provisions of the Family Allowances Act the new school-leaving age automatically applies except as regards children who had attained the old school-leaving age before the new age became operative.
