HC Deb 24 November 1947 vol 444 c254W
Mr. Sharp

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action he is taking to reinforce the third appeal of Wool Control to wool textile manufacturers to make a fairer share of woollen and worsted clothes available for the men's clothing trade.

Mr. H. Wilson

Production of men's made-up wool outerwear in 1947 is about 10 per cent. greater than in 1946, whereas in the women's section production is rather below the 1946 level. In the circumstances I do not think that any further action is required to reinforce the appeal the Wool Controller has made to the trade.
