HC Deb 20 November 1947 vol 444 c199W
15. Mr. D. J. Williams

asked the President of the Board of Trade what reductions have been made in the allocations of raw materials to factories in the South Wales Development Area; and what are the estimated effects of these reductions on employment in that area.

Mr. H. Wilson

Where reductions have had to be made in the raw materials allocated to particular industries, the existing practice has been maintained of giving preference to factories in the Development Areas as compared with firms in areas where there is no unemployment problem. The detailed information for which my hon. Friend asks is not readily available and could only be obtained by making a lengthy inquiry.
