HC Deb 19 November 1947 vol 444 cc181-2W
61. Mr. Digby

asked the Minister of Food if he will give the destination of the 13,000 tons of oils and fats which it is anticipated will be exported during 1947.

Mr. Strachey

During 1947 we expect to have to export 6,970 tons of oil and fats to Mediterranean Colonies, 2,700 tons to Far East Colonies and Burma, 1,040 tons to African Colonies, 595 tons to Caribbean Colonies, 815 tons to Middle East countries and 990 tons to other Colonies and the Faroes. The total amount is under 2 per cent. of our consumption.
