§ Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what restrictions still exist over the acquisition of land by members of the Colonial Civil Service in the dependent territories.
Mr. Creech JonesAn officer desiring to acquire land as an investment or for the purpose of farming or settlement would have to obtain permission, which would only be granted if it were clear that his private affairs would not thereby be brought into real or apparent conflict with his public duties. Otherwise there are no special restrictions.
