§ Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will approach the Government of Southern Rhodesia to include Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland in the terms of reference of the committee set up to decide priority for economic development, in view of the closely linked problems of development in these three territories.
Mr. Creech JonesCo-ordination of development in the three Central African Territories can best be achieved through the medium of the Central African Council, which established a Standing Economic Development Committee for this purpose in 1945. The three Governments concerned have under consideration proposals for improving the existing machinery for close consultation on matters of common interest.
