HC Deb 17 November 1947 vol 444 c148W
Mr. Paget

asked the Secretary of State for War between what dates Sapper C. Collins, 14901409, 1292 C.R.E. (Works) M.E.L.F., was quarantined upon a naval transport upon which cholera was suspected; and what steps were taken to notify the next of kin of people on board this ship or to enable them to communicate with their next of kin.

Mr. Shinwell

Information on this matter has been called for from the military authorities overseas and I will write to my hon. and learned Friend when a report has been received. The next of kin are not normally informed in cases of quarantine; but only in cases where a man is considered by the medical authorities to be seriously ill or dangerously ill.
