§ 67. Mr. Digbyasked the Minister of Food what quantities of oils and fats have been exported from the United Kingdom 77W during the past year; to what countries were they exported; and what was the reason for these exports.
§ Dr. SummerskillDuring 1947 we expect to export only 13,000 tons of oils and fats mainly in the form of margarine and soap. Our import programme for the same period is 960,000 tons. The small quantity exported is sent to a number of destinations primarily Colonies and Dependencies. The preparation of detailed figures would take some considerable time, but I shall be happy to supply the hon. Member with the particulars he desires for any specific destination in which he is interested.
