HC Deb 12 November 1947 vol 444 c89W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether in view of the decisions to double the allocations of steel for the supply of agricultural implements, he will give an assurance that better facilities will now be made available for the production of rabbit traps of an approved humane type.

Mr. T. Williams

Sufficient steel has already been allocated for the production of several thousand rabbit traps to a new design sponsored by the R.S.P.C.A. This allocation is to provide for comprehensive field tests of machine-made traps following promising trials of the hand-made model. If the trap proves satisfactory the allocation of steel necessary for wider production will be considered in the light of available supplies.
