§ Mr. Hollisasked the Secretary of State for Air to what extent the contractor erecting houses for the Air Ministry at Lyneham, Wilts, is being reimbursed by his Department for wages paid in excess of the local rate.
§ Mr. de FreitasMen employed on this work, who have been brought in with Air Ministry approval from districts where the wage rates are higher than in the Lyneham district, continue to receive the higher rate of wage. The difference between this higher rate and the basic rate agreed in the contract is repaid by my Department to the contractor. This basic rate is slightly higher than the local rate.
