HC Deb 12 November 1947 vol 444 cc83-4W
93. Mr. Carmichael

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that letters with the 4.15 p.m. postmark from London are not delivered in Glasgow until the second succeeding morning delivery; and as this delay causes serious difficulties in all kinds of business will he make inquiries regarding these delays and if necessary make alternative arrangements to permit of delivery on the morning following the afternoon London posting.

Mr. Wilfred Paling

Letters for Glasgow posted in London in time for the 5.30 p.m. head district and 4.15/4.30 p.m. sub district collections are due to be delivered on the following weekday. If the hon. Member will let me have details of any letters which seem to have suffered delay I will have investigation made.
