§ Mr. BelcherThe felling or disposal of growing trees anywhere is subject to licence, with two exceptions. The first is that orchard trees and trees not more than three inches in diameter over the bark five feet from ground level are exempted. The second is that an owner may himself fell 250 cubic feet of his own timber in any one month without a licence. The disposal of the round timber when felled is also subject to licence, unless its butt diameter without bark does not exceed three inches, or the timber may reasonably be considered fit only for use as fuel or for the manufacture of charcoal.
