asked the President of the Board of Trade how many persons, giving separate figures for male and female, are employed in the Methods and Organisations Branch of his Department; who is the head; what are his qualifications; what is his salary; and what is the total annual cost of the department to the taxpayer.

Mr. Belcher

Twelve men and 12 women are employed in this Branch. The head is Mr. H. G. Pollard, an assistant secretary on a salary scale of £1,320 to £1,700 a year, who has a comprehensive knowledge of the Department's functions and an aptitude for organisation and methods work. The total cost of the Branch is £12,250 per annum.
