HC Deb 10 November 1947 vol 444 c12W
98. Mr. Austin

asked the Minister of Supply whether, in regard to the supply of scrap iron from Germany, he is satisfied that the needs of the iron and steel industry can be adequately met; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

I would prefer to postpone any statement pending the outcome of negotiations which are proceeding in Germany for the purchase of further quantities of scrap.
