HC Deb 10 November 1947 vol 444 cc13-4W
101. Major Beamish

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware that Curtis and Company (J. C. Gosling), a firm engaged in servicing agricultural equipment, is seriously impeded in their work owing to the non-delivery of vehicles to replace others which are worn out; whether he is aware that this case is typical of many others throughout the country, and if he will explain the steps he has taken to ensure that farmers and firms engaged in the drive for increased food production are not hampered by lack of essential transport.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

Yes; I fully realise that many firms are experiencing difficulty in obtaining delivery of commercial vehicles. The motor industry is giving preference as far as possible to the requirements of industries of national importance.
