HC Deb 04 November 1947 vol 443 c178W
76. Mr. Osborne

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that permits to buy utility furniture and priority dockets for household requirements have been refused to a North Lincolnshire farmer who is taking over 360 acres of land, merely on the ground that he is unmarried; and how single men who take over empty farmhouses can have their basic household requirements met.

Mr. Belcher

Permits and priority dockets are not normally refused in such circumstances. If the hon. Member will let me have particulars to identify the case, I will have it investigated.
