HC Deb 04 November 1947 vol 443 c190W
Sir T. Moore

asked the Minister of Transport which of the schemes in the present road development programme are regarded by his Department as contributing usefully towards the industrial prosperity and the export trade of this country; and whether he will given an assurance that any such schemes will not be delayed or discontinued.

Mr. Callaghan

I am not yet in a position to say what road improvement schemes will proceed but decisions in all cases will be based on the contribution they will make to achieving maximum production.
